What inspires someone, who himself inspires so many record lovers? Some insight can be found in the short interview below, part of our &#8220;<strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/ourlabelrecords.com\/?cat=226\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DJs you should know<\/a><\/em><\/strong>&#8221; series. Hit the play button of the mix below and read on.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mixcloud.com\/widget\/iframe\/?hide_cover=1&amp;feed=%2FMukatsuku%2F\" width=\"100%\" height=\"120\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Which style \/ genre do you mostly play:<\/strong> <\/em><br \/>\nI play different gigs with different styles but generally, depending on the event, mostly 45s: Soul\/Funk\/Northern Soul\/Mod Jazz\/Jazz\/Brasil Funk\/Latin Funk\/Boogie\/Disco\/Afro Funk.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Residency (current or previous):<\/strong> <\/em><br \/>\nCurrently: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/southlondonsoultrain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Soul Room South London Soul Train<\/a> monthly at Bussey Building for the last 4 years.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>DJ gig farthest away from your home:<\/strong> <\/em><br \/>\nAustralia, but I have been playing regularly in Japan since the late 1990&#8217;s. I also played some interesting places like Kazahkstan, Singapore, Toronto etc.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Most memorable DJ gig and why?<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nI had some great gigs in France and Japan&#8230;memorable for many reasons. Crowd\/Hospitality\/Accommodation\/Food\/Sound System\/Location\/Reaction<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Since when have you been a DJ?<\/strong> <\/em><br \/>\nI started playing records at parties as a teenager not because I was a DJ, but because I had a large record collection.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>What was your first ever record?<\/em> <\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qaZ9s7S26qg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mary Had A Little Lamb by Paul Mc Cartney &amp; Wings<\/a>. I was 8 years old for gods sake!<br \/>\nMy first soul record that i still play today was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=vO3LCtyty5M\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eddie Floyd &#8211; Big Bird<\/a> when about 12 i guess<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Favourite record of all times and why:<\/em> <\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1kZktu3X9LE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eddie Holman &#8211; I Surrender<\/a>. Brings tingles down my spine each and every time.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Record that surprised you most and why:<\/strong> <\/em><br \/>\nProbably <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1kZktu3X9LE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eddie Holman &#8211; I Surrender<\/a> as even though I have played hundreds of times, it still has the same effect each and every time. The appeal of that record has not wained over the years.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Record you usually play at all your DJ gigs:<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nNot all my gigs but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Hc2y9X08tN8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Garnet Mimms &#8211; As Long As I Have You<\/a> is up there as &#8221;regularly played&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Vinyl or other media:<\/strong> <\/em><br \/>\nVinyl 45s<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Favourite club to play at:<\/em> <\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theroom.jp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Room Tokyo Japan<\/a> \/ The Bussey Building Peckham<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Your favourite DJ:<\/strong> <\/em><br \/>\nit changes regularly..
